Base Coffee Named in Top Coffee Shops 2026 by DoorDash| Base Coffee Roasters

I have some exciting news to share! DoorDash named Base Coffee one of its Top Coffee Shops for 2026, recognizing us among just 50 standout local coffee shops across the country. Read on because you’ll get a surprise this National coffee day!

Honestly, we had no idea our customer ratings were so high!  DoorDash does not disclose exactly how many shops were considered, but on a nationwide platform, we were probably competing with thousands of coffee shops. To find out that our customers’ day-in, day-out ratings had placed Base Coffee among the top 50 was both surprising and incredibly humbling.

DoorDash looked at real data from July 2025 through July 2026 and selected the top 50 small and medium-sized coffee shops (with less than 10 locations) with the highest average customer ratings and at least 1000 reviews

Base was one of only two Utah coffee shops included. DoorDash even highlighted us by name alongside Portland Coffee Roasters in Oregon and Bobo’s Cafe in New York.^[1] That was a pretty incredible thing to discover.

A National List With Local Roots

The story has since reached readers around the country through Stacker and outlets including ABC17 News and The Mercury News.^[2][3] But for us, this recognition is not really about making a national list. It is about the people who make Base what it is: our baristas, roastery team, regulars, first-time visitors, and everyone who chooses a local coffee shop to start the day.

Over the past year, we took a major step forward and began roasting our own specialty coffee in small, carefully managed batches. It has given us more control over quality and freshness while pushing us to keep learning and improving every roast.

Coffee may be our foundation, but it is only part of what people come to Base for. We love serving fresh pastries, breakfast sandwiches and burritos alongside the matcha and chai drinks that have become some of our most popular orders.

DoorDash’s report also shows just how central coffee has become to daily life. More than 80 million coffee orders were placed on the platform during the reporting period, with 9 a.m. as the most popular ordering time and Friday as the most popular day.^[1]

We’re proud to represent Utah on this national list, but what matters most is continuing to earn your trust day in and day out. Our approach has always been to improve what we do in small ways every day… dialing in a roast, refining a recipe, finding a better ingredient, or simply making someone’s morning a little better than it would have been otherwise.

That is why this recognition means so much. It came directly from customer ratings built one order and one interaction at a time. Thank you for noticing the little things, supporting a local coffee company, and giving us the opportunity to keep getting better.
